Diabetes Awareness Sessions

We are committed to raising awareness and prevention of type 2 diabetes as well as minimising the impact of diabetes in the community.

The health promotion team is accepting and responding to requests from workplaces, organizations and health professionals wanting to provide diabetes awareness sessions to their staff/ clients.

These awareness sessions are tailored to the target audience’s needs, run for an hour and provide an overview of the following aspects of diabetes:

  • What is diabetes?

  • Types of diabetes

  • Understanding diabetes

  • Symptoms and complications of diabetes

  • Risk factors for type 2 diabetes

  • How to prevent type 2 diabetes?

  • Life! Taking Action on Diabetes course (A preventative program for people at high risk of type 2 diabetes)

The following criteria apply to booking a Diabetes Awareness Session:

  • 15 plus attendees per session

  • A cost of $100 per session

  • Venues must be in Melbourne
