Type 2 diabetes - Programs and Services
We provide a range of programs and services for people with type 2 diabetes, their carers and family members.
Our advocacy coordinator provides information, support and advocacy for issues affecting people with diabetes or their carers and helps take action on the concerns and suggestions for improvement in diabetes care.
Getting Started - Type 2 diabetes program 2010
‘Getting Started’ is a three part program run over three consecutive weeks for people with type 2 diabetes who are newly diagnosed or have not had diabetes education in the past. Each of these three hour programs are run by our Diabetes Educator and Dietitian, who will provide you with valuable information to manage your diabetes.

DA–Vic members price to attend is $30 and non-members price to attend is $45. One support person (optional) is free.

If you wish to speak to a credentialed diabetes educator, accredited practising dietitian or our advocacy co-ordinator with any questions or concerns you have about diabetes, treatments and management, ask a member of the Diabetes Info Line to transfer you through to a member of the Health and Education Services Team.
Supermarket tours
We organise supermarket tours in metropolitan and regional areas to help make shopping for healthy food easier.
