DA–Vic employs over 130 people across the organisation covering various program, service, support and operational areas.  Our offices are located in Melbourne, Carlton, Greensborough and Belmont.  We also rely on a committed group of volunteers, who we value highly.

Recruitment Process

You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or hold the appropriate work visa, to work at DA–Vic.

Please include the following (one each if you are applying for several positions) as part of your employment application:

1.  Cover letter

Include the position title and number in your letter.

2.  Document addressing the Key Selection Criteria

Include the main selection criteria headings: qualifications/experience, critical competencies and interpersonal skills, and provide one or two paragraphs summarising your relevant skills and experiences to address the criteria categories.  The selection criteria are listed in each position description, which is available from the employment opportunities section of the website.  Alternatively, contact Human Resources on (03) 9667 1705.

3.  Resume

Ensure all details are current and include:

  • Personal contact details, including daytime phone number.
  • Relevant qualifications and training that you've completed.
  • Employment history, including organisations, dates of employment, your position title and responsibilities.
  • Details of any relevant voluntary work.
  • Current daytime phone numbers of two professional referees.

Application receipt

Generally, email notifications will be provided to acknowledge that your application has been received.

Interview process

The initial interview shortlist will generally be finalised within two weeks following the closing date.  If you are chosen for interview, you'll be contacted by telephone and interview details will be confirmed via email.  At least two people will usually be involved in the interview process.

Post interviews

Reference checks will be conducted on the preferred candidate/s following the interview process.  No referee will be contacted without the applicants consent.

The preferred candidate will be advised by phone and a formal written offer will be made by the Chief Executive and forwarded by mail (and email, if necessary).

Notification

Unsuccessful interviewees will be notified via phone or email once the position has been accepted by the preferred candidate.  Those applicants who haven't been successful for interview will be notified via email.
