Business Development
The primary function of the Business Operations team is to administer the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS). This is Commonwealth Government initiative, administered by DA–Vic in Victoria. The NDSS aims to support people with diabetes and ensure they have reliable and affordable access to supplies and services to effectively manage their condition. There is no registration cost involved for the customer and registration entitles people with diabetes to subsidised blood glucose and urine testing reagents, syringes and insulin pen needles, and insulin pump consumables.
The Business Operations team also manage the retail department at DA–Vic which offers customers over the counter services and advice regarding the purchase of both NDSS and DA–Vic products. The DA–Vic product range includes blood glucose meters, lancets, cookbooks, food and beverage items, socks, travel products and creams and lotions. Visit our online shop to see our product range.
The Diabetes InfoLine provides an inbound telephone service where callers are able to obtain verbal and written diabetes related information and referral to health professionals. The diabetes InfoLine also acts as DA–Vic’s reception centre for phone calls.
The Pharmacy Approved Retailer Scheme (PARS) has been developed to enable greater access for customers to both NDSS and DA–Vic products, and limited nurse education services, throughout Victoria in local pharmacies.
The Clothing Collection Crew (CCC) is responsible for the collection of preloved clothing and household goods. The material is provided to Savers Stores. The service provides essential revenue to enable the provision of important community support and information services that assist DA–Vic in raising awareness about diabetes.
