Diabetes Australia – Vic is a proud supporter of LiveLighter: a new public education campaign that aims to encourage Victorians aged 25-49 years to eat well, be physically active and maintain a healthy weight – delivered by the Cancer Council Victoria. The campaign alerts people about how toxic fat can increase their risk of developing cancer, cardiovascular disease and diabetes.
The campaign was launched in August 2014 and is due to continue until June 2015, featuring on commercial television, newspapers, radio, outdoor, cinema and online across the state. It has been implemented across Western Australia since June 2012. Evaluation of the campaign shows that it reached and resonated with, those most at risk of weight-related chronic disease.
LiveLighter also provides a wealth of information, resources and tools to support and encourage people in making and maintaining positive lifestyle changes. The website provides a meal and activity planner developed by nutritionists. Find out more at livelighter.com.au
