This workshop is for health professionals involved in the direct care and support for patients with type 1 diabetes
After attending this workshop, participants should be able to:

• Understand how the evidence-based DAFNE approach works and how it can have a positive impact on the health of patients with type 1 diabetes
• Understand DAFNE terminology and how this relates to interpretation of patients’ DAFNE diaries
• Proactively identify and follow up patients with type 1 diabetes who are using a DAFNE approach
• Refer eligible patients with type 1 diabetes to their local DAFNE accredited centre
• Confidently discuss patients’ progress with DAFNE and motivate patients with type 1 diabetes to stay on track
