A program designed to teach practical skills for managing type 2 diabetes.

When thinking about how best to manage type 2 diabetes it can be difficult to know where to start. DESMOND stands for Diabetes Education and Self-Management for Ongoing and Newly Diagnosed. Our experts will teach you practical skills to give you the confidence to better manage your diabetes.

At this program you will learn about:

• When and why to monitor your blood glucose levels
• Making healthy food choices
• Managing diabetes complications
• Physical activity and exercise
• Setting goals and creating an action plan

One workshop participant said:
“I am able to set a goal for my diabetes management and a workable plan. I have control of my diet and exercise regularly.”

This program is suitable for adults with type 2 diabetes.
