The HypoPAST study: evaluation of an online program for Hypoglycaemia Prevention, Awareness of Symptoms and Treatment among adults with type 1 diabetes Study Information.
HypoPAST is a new online program which aims to help adults with type 1 diabetes worry less about hypos. It may also help them learn skills to help prevent and manage severe hypos. We are currently testing the program to find out how well it works.
This is a 6-month study with a few steps.
People who take part will be put randomly into one of two groups:
- Group 1: (HypoPAST now) will be able to access the HypoPAST program straight away.
- Group 2 (HypoPAST waitlist) will need to wait 24 weeks before they can access the HypoPAST program.
Everyone will be asked to fill out some surveys and to use a smartphone app.
Some people will be asked to take part in a telephone interview at the end of the study. This information will help researchers find out how well the program works.
Eligibility
We are looking for people who:
- have type 1 diabetes
- feel worried, anxious or fearful of hypos (low blood glucose)
- are 18 years or older
- live in Australia
- have internet access on a computer, tablet device, or smartphone.
