Gwen Scott Grant Program

The Gwen Scott Grant Program offers annual funding to healthcare professionals seeking to enhance their diabetes expertise. These grants support professional development activities designed to improve clinical skills and address critical gaps in diabetes care and education within local communities.

Honoring a Pioneer

The program is named in memory of Gwen Scott, a trailblazer in Australian healthcare.

Her legacy includes:

  • A National First – Gwen Scott was Australia’s first nurse to specialise in diabetes education.
  • Organisational Roots – Gwen Scott was the first employee of the Victorian Diabetics Association (now Diabetes Victoria).
  • Professional Impact –  Gwen Scott is widely credited with establishing the formal role of diabetes educators across the country.

2026 Application

The 2026 Gwen Scott Grant Program is an open application process and available to all health professionals who are members of Diabetes Victoria. We thank you for your ongoing interest and support for this program.
