About the Clothing Collection service
Your donations help fund diabetes awareness programs, support people with diabetes and assist with finding a cure through research. Diabetes Australia – Vic is the peak consumer body and leading charity representing all people affected by diabetes and those at risk.
This free, easy and convenient service might be just what you need:
- After a seasonal clean out or when you are moving house
- To get rid of items leftover after a garage sale
- If you have had a family member pass away and you need to clear out their home
- When your children grow older and they leave behind outgrown clothes, toys and books!
We collect from residential households, organisations, schools, workplaces or churches with surplus items.
- Mobile Phones
- Pots and pans
- Small items of furniture (small enough for one person to lift and carry)
Victoria wide collection:
We have up to 15 truck drivers collecting daily from metropolitan Melbourne, outer suburbs and many country and regional areas.
Please note that you must select a future date, allowing at least 3 business days. We do not provide a same day collection service.
Eltham resident Mrs McKinnon has been donating to Diabetes Australia – Vic for the past ten years
“Twice a year I have a big clean out, it is very healthy and makes me feel great! it feels good to pass on things we don’t use anymore. I prefer to give clothes to a charity than to throw them out. That way they can be reused and it is not added to tips and landfills.”
Ascot Vale resident Mr Reynolds has been donating to Diabetes Australia – Vic since his last garage sale failure
“I thought what a good idea to have a garage sale, make some money and get rid of household items I didn’t want. Well it rained all day and it seemed I was left with more than I started with and really couldn’t be bothered putting it all back, so I got on the Diabetes website, booked a free pick up for the following week and when I got home from work it was all gone!”
