Global Summit to End Diabetes Stigma

Diabetes Victoria is proud to announce the acceptance of three initiatives for presentation at the inaugural Global Summit to End Diabetes Stigma, in Jaipur India, 2026.

As we move toward this historic event, our selections feature a deep commitment to our strategic vision: a world where diabetes can do no harm.

The Power of Partnership: Diabetes Victoria & the ACBRD

Our success is inseparable from our long-standing partnership with the Australian Centre for Behavioural Research in Diabetes (ACBRD). This collaboration, the first of its kind globally, has reshaped how we operate. By integrating their world-leading behavioral research and consultation into our organisation, we have transformed the way we talk about diabetes.

This evidence-based approach ensures that every event, program, and service we produce is person-centered, psychologically informed, and actively works to cancel out the blame and shame often associated with the condition.

The Focus is on Four

At the heart of these submissions is Goal 4 of the Diabetes Victoria Strategy: People will live free from diabetes stigma and discrimination.

Whether through the life-changing experience of a camp, inside a workplace or school canteen, or the universal change of a national advocacy campaign, we are not just talking about ending stigma, we are building a map to achieve it.

Our Global Submissions

Each of our accepted submissions reflects a unique pillar of our work, demonstrating how we tackle stigma throughout our organisation. See below each submission and click through to see further detail for each topic.
