Advocacy and Policy Change
Advocating for all Victorians is at the heart of what we do. We do this to ensure the voices of our every Victorian community are heard and their needs are met.
On this page, you will find all the ways we work to influence meaningful policy change. This includes submissions we make to government, parliamentary inquiries and state and federal budget proposals, as well as reports like our Diabetes: Testing Times document, which highlights the real-life experiences and barriers faced by the diabetes community.
We use these tools to inform and influence decision-makers about critical issues, such as:
- the need for affordable healthcare
- equitable access to diabetes supplies and services
- and stronger prevention programs
By presenting evidence-based recommendations and sharing the stories of those affected by diabetes, we aim to build a healthcare system that supports everyone, no matter where they live or what type of diabetes they have.
Our advocacy efforts are shaped by the insights and feedback we receive from the diabetes community. We will continue to work together to create a world in which diabetes can do no harm.
