Diabetes Victoria Member Magazine Advertising Booking Terms and Conditions 2025

 All advertising is subject to review and approval at the discretion of Diabetes Victoria.

Diabetes Victoria will confirm in writing with a booking summary, payment invoice and instructions for submitting your advertising material.

Your advertisement must:

  • Be relevant to Victorians living with diabetes.
  • Clearly identify the advertiser.
  • Include clear and legible information.
  • Adhere to the relevant language guidelines.
  • Adhere to all advertising regulations and consumer law.
  • Include specific disclaimers about any marketing claims, health information and suitability.
  • Include a general disclaimer to the effect of: “Please consult your healthcare professional before making changes to your diabetes management, or if you have any other questions or concerns regarding your health.

Your advertisement must not:

  • Feature any brand, product or service that is irrelevant or does not align with Diabetes Victoria’s Partnership Policy.
  • Include false or unproven health claims or information.
  • Use terms such as patient, diabetic, suffer or control (refer to language guidelines for suggested terminology instead).
  • Include any language or images that are confronting or scaremongering.
  • Suggest any endorsement of your brand, product or service by Diabetes Victoria.

Your booking is subject to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Advertisements are subject to review by Diabetes Victoria.
  2. Diabetes Victoria may seek further information from the advertiser regarding marketing claims and health information linked to their product, service and/or advertising material.
  3. Diabetes Victoria reserves the right to provide feedback to ensure advertising content is suitable for its members.
  4. If feedback is provided, the advertiser is obliged to make any adjustments and resubmit their material/s.
  5. Diabetes Victoria reserves the right to decline at any time any advertising or editorial content deemed inappropriate or not in the interest of its members.
  6. Advertising placements are subject to availability.
  7. Advertising opportunities are not exclusive. Diabetes Victoria will feature a range of advertisers in each publication.
  8. Advertising does not constitute endorsement by Diabetes Victoria.
  9. The advertiser must not in any way represent that Diabetes Victoria endorses or recommends their brand or any of its products or services.
  10. Diabetes Victoria will maintain absolute independence in developing policies on behalf of Victorians affected by diabetes.
  11. The advertising payment will not affect Diabetes Victoria’s purchasing practices or arrangements. 
  12. The advertiser accepts all responsibility for any claims or actions based on or arising out of anything contained in the advertisement, including any use of names, photographs and/or copyrighted materials.
  13. Diabetes Victoria is not liable for any representations made by advertisers in relation to their programs, services, and offers or their provision of such items.
  14. Diabetes Victoria will not be liable and makes no guarantee for advertising results.
  15. All advertisers must hold a valid Certificate of Currency.
  16. All advertising must include a general disclaimer statement such as “Please consult your healthcare professional before making changes to your diabetes management, or if you have any other questions or concerns regarding your health.”
  17. Nothing in this agreement will provide the advertiser with any advantage, right or benefit in terms of Diabetes Victoria’s role as an Agent for the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS).
  18. Nothing in this agreement will provide the advertiser with any advantage, right or benefit in terms of the provision of Commonwealth subsidised diabetes products or medicines to NDSS Registrants or the provision of NDSS information to people living with diabetes or health professionals.
  19. The advertiser must not use or otherwise exploit the NDSS trademarks or any other NDSS-related intellectual property (whether to represent a perceived or actual endorsement or recommendation or otherwise).
  20. The advertiser must not represent that Diabetes Victoria or the NDSS endorses or recommends a product, brand or medicine in preference to any other NDSS products or PBS medicines.
  21. All advertising material (artwork) must be provided by the relevant deadline.
  22. If the artwork is not provided on time, Diabetes Victoria reserves the right to cancel the advertisement or repeat any previous advertisement of the same size from the advertiser.
  23. Diabetes Victoria reserves the right in unforeseen circumstances to amend publication timings.
  24. The advertiser agrees that their advertising artwork will be shared by Diabetes Victoria with relevant suppliers and publishers.
  25. Diabetes Victoria accepts no responsibility for typesetting/artwork done by a third party on behalf of the advertiser.
  26. If the publisher needs to amend any part of the advertiser material, a proof of the finished artwork will be made available for approval before printing.
  27. Nothing in this agreement transfers intellectual property rights between Diabetes Victoria and the advertiser.
  28. Advertising payments are due upon invoicing.
  29. All amounts are payable in Australian dollars via direct deposits as the preferred method or credit card.
  30. All payments must include a 10% Goods and Services Tax component.
  31. All costs to organise and design advertisements are funded by the advertisers only.
  32. Diabetes Victoria reserves the right to cancel your advertisement if your organisation does not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
  33. Diabetes Victoria reserves the right to cancel your advertisement if your organisation brings Diabetes Victoria and/or the publication into disrepute.
  34. Advertising cancellations are accepted up to 60 days prior to the advertising deadline. Any cancellation received after this will be charged at the full fee.
  35. The advertiser grants Diabetes Victoria a non-exclusive, Australia-wide, royalty-free licence to display the advertiser’s name, logos, and trademarks for the purpose of notifying the public of this advertising agreement.
  36. The advertiser will not disclose details of this booking agreement to third parties except for disclosures required by industry regulation or law.
  37. Diabetes Victoria will disclose details of this booking agreement to comply with NDSS reporting requirements.
  38. In all other cases, each party must receive written approval in advance of publication of the other party’s logo or trademark(s).
  39. Advertisers are not permitted to assign or on-sell the whole or any part of their advertisements to any third party.
  40. In order to publish your advertising, your organisation and contact details may be shared with suppliers and contractors.
