Call

Thanks for the Impact!

National Diabetes Week 2025 was more than just a campaign, it was a movement. Our message to ‘check today for a healthier tomorrow’ was heard far and wide, thanks to the incredible support of countless organisations, individuals, and political leaders who rallied behind the cause.

We would like to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who helped amplify our message.

The enthusiasm, commitment, and collaboration made this campaign one of the most impactful yet.

During this year’s campaign, we heard from community groups, peer support leaders, national and international bodies keen to spread the word, drive awareness, encourage action. For thousands of Victorians affected by diabetes, we hope we have made – and can continue to make – a real difference in your lives.

The campaign’s success relied on you!

We put out the call and you all answered in every way you could. Supporters engaged in a variety of meaningful ways, so people needing help now know where to come. Seeing our campaign posters proudly displayed in offices, clinics, and community spaces was a powerful reminder of the unity behind this cause.

Digital support

By spreading the word and sharing our articles, you helped to educate. This goes a long way to breaking down diabetes stigma and encouraging early intervention.

Every post, re-post, and story helped spread our message across our digital platforms. This meant we were able to reach new audiences and start those important conversations.

No matter how big or how small those conversations are, they encourage important action.

Other resources

We also produced a downloadable Annual Cycle of Care booklet for the community.

By embracing this vital resource, healthcare professionals and individuals alike took proactive steps toward better diabetes management.

Of course, this was mentioned at each of the four webinars that were run throughout the week. Don’t worry, if you missed them live, you can still watch them here!

Your participation in our educational sessions demonstrated a commitment to learning, helping build a more informed and proactive community.

Check today for a healthier tomorrow

This message was received loud and clear! Diabetes Victoria, in collaboration with the Life! Program, encouraged people to take the AusDRISK test. By assessing your risk and encouraging others to do the same, you helped promote early detection and prevention. Both are key pillars in the fight against type 2 diabetes.

A powerful message, embraced by many

The campaign’s theme, check today for a healthier tomorrow, was embraced with excitement. Every conversation, every poster displayed, and every article shared contributed to a broader understanding of diabetes and the importance of early detection.

We were especially moved by the support from political leaders who lent their voices to the campaign. Their involvement helped elevate the conversation, reinforcing the importance of diabetes awareness and prevention in public health policy.

Looking ahead

While National Diabetes Week has ended, the momentum continues. The actions taken during this campaign will have lasting impact.

We are committed to creating a world where diabetes can do no harm.

To everyone who took any action, thank you. Your support means the world to us, and to the thousands of people whose lives are touched by diabetes every day.

Together, we are building a healthier tomorrow.
