World Diabetes Day 2025

This World Diabetes Day, we’re inviting workplaces to embrace the theme ‘Know more and do more for diabetes at work.’ With 7 in 10 people with diabetes of working age, and 3 in 4 experiencing mental health challenges, with your support we can create more informed and supportive environments for people living with diabetes.

If you would like to know more about advocacy support or are experiencing discrimination in the workplace, please contact our advocacy team.

What is World Diabetes Day?

World Diabetes Day (WDD) is the global awareness day for diabetes. It is held every year on 14 November.

It’s also the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, the person who co-discovered insulin in 1922.

WDD is the largest international diabetes campaign, bringing together people living with diabetes, health professionals, advocates, governments and the wider community to raise awareness, push for better care and reduce stigma.

For us at Diabetes Victoria, WDD is an important moment to put diabetes in the spotlight across the state: to share information, celebrate technology advances, and help to fill the gaps in diabetes care.

We are here to call for changes that help people live well with diabetes.
