Dexcom G6 will be discontinued September 2026
The Dexcom G6 transmitter and sensor will be discontinued by AMSL Diabetes (a Dexcom Company) on 30 September 2026.
If you currently use Dexcom G6, please see your diabetes health professional to discuss the most suitable continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) device for your needs.
Your health professional can help you change to the new device through the NDSS. The change will not be made automatically, so we recommend booking an appointment ahead of time.
Choosing a new device
A range of CGM products is available through the NDSS. Your health professional can help you decide which option is most suitable for your needs and submit the required NDSS access updates on your behalf.
About the cost
Co-payments for all CGM products are equivalent, with individual differences reflecting the different sensor lifespan and pack size for each product. There is no co-pay for concession card holders or registrants under 21 years of age. Annual access limits apply to all CGM products and are based on manufacturer usage guidelines.
