Type 2 diabetes and eye health study

A woman's eye.

Monash University are conducting the Evaluating adaptive user interfaces for chronic disease applications study.

This study aims to explore how adaptive user interfaces can improve the experience of individuals managing chronic diseases like diabetes. These interfaces adjust elements such as font size, button size, and layout to meet the specific needs of each user.

Participants will interact with two versions of the app—one non-adaptive and one adaptive—and provide feedback during an interview session. At the end of the session, participants will be asked to complete a brief post-session survey.

Interviews will be conducted in-person or virtually via Zoom, based on the participant’s preference. Each session will last between 40 and 60 minutes.

This study is important because it seeks to create more personalised, user-friendly tools to help people with diabetes manage their condition more effectively, ultimately improving their overall well-being.

To be eligible, you must be:

• living with type 2 diabetes
    or
• living with hypertension (high blood pressure).

Participant requirements:

Participant interviews will take place online via Zoom or at the Clayton campus of Monash University. One interview session will take approximately 40 – 60 minutes.
