Parliamentary Friends of People Affected by Diabetes

Diabetes Victoria is proud to support the Parliamentary Friends of People Affected by Diabetes Group in the Victorian State Parliament.

The Parliamentary Friends group hosts regular events at Parliament and also attends diabetes-related events in the community throughout the year.

The co-chairs of this Parliamentary Friends of People Affected by Diabetes Group are Bronwyn Halfpenny MP and Gaelle Broad MP. Bronwyn Halfpenny MP is also the Victorian Government Health Ambassador for Diabetes.

What is the Friends of Parliament Group?

Diabetes Victoria is proud to support the Parliamentary Friends of People Affected by Diabetes Group in the Victorian State Parliament. This is a non-partisan forum for Victorian parliamentarians to raise awareness and show support for matters that are important for people living with or affected by all types of diabetes.

With one in seven Victorians affected by diabetes, this is a topic that affects all parts of the Victorian community. Some Parliamentarians are living with diabetes themselves while others have family and friends living with diabetes or have heard directly from the community about the importance of this health issue.
