If you’re living with diabetes in Australia and using the Omnipod® 5 Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) System with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor, there’s an important update you need to know.

Insulet, the maker of the Omnipod® 5, has confirmed that its latest software update is currently not compatible with the FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus sensor in Australia.

Who is impacted?

Users are temporarily unable to benefit from automated insulin delivery based on Libre 2 Plus glucose readings.

Who is not impacted?

If you’re using:

  • Dexcom G6 or G7 with Omnipod® 5 you’re in the clear. Your system continues to function as expected.
  • FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus without Omnipod® 5 your sensor is still fully operational as a standalone CGM.

Insulet is working urgently to resolve the issue and expect to release a new software update in the coming weeks. While no specific date has been announced, users are encouraged to stay tuned for updates via official channels.
